EMLA Members

EMLA currently has over 80 members which are drawn from Hungary's top environmental professionals including lawyers, scientists, managers, economists, professors, and journalists. We also have a handful of international members.

Membership Drive

We are currently interested in attracted new members, particularly those who have an interest in engaging students, other professionals, businesses, and the public in events and seminars focused on increasing understanding of environmental issues. Although most of our members are at the top of their respective fields, we strongly encourage young professionals who are at the earlier stages of their careers to consider becoming EMLA members. At this time, we are seeking to diversify EMLA's membership by attracting individuals from the business sector as well as professionals from abroad to become members. Becoming a member of EMLA gives you a voice in a premier professional organization which leads the way on environmental issues in Hungary, in the region, and in the world. EMLA Members also benefit from friendship and collaboration amongst top-level professionals from various fields. Contact

Member Privileges

We strive to be a resource for our members. Through the George Andrew Kellner Fund we provide funding for members to work together on environmental projects of their own design in Hungary. We are currently compiling a database of member biographies and publications. We will soon feature the EMLA membership, including members' biographies, papers, and available publications, on our website. Members' online papers will serve as an important global resource on environmental issues. We welcome papers in their original language and in translation. Members also have the option of adding their organization or business's website to the EMLA site's links. Current and prospective members may contact EMLA with their papers, publications, biographies, and of course, ideas and suggestions for projects, programs, and activities that the membership might undertake. Member Responsibilities

Members are required to pay yearly dues and to participate in the annual meeting of the full EMLA membership. We consider fulfilling these obligations a basic minimum of member participation (except in the case of international members who are not expected to travel to Budapest for these events). We welcome member input and we look forward to engaging the members in several exciting projects and events during the coming year. Contact
